Hello!

I’m Anne, I am a practitioner of Western herbal medicine. I studied for over 4 years including in excess of 580 hours of clinical experience to qualify with merit as a Medical Herbalist. This incredibly extensive and thorough training akin to a GP’s in the UK allowed me to gain the medical as well as herbal skills to treat patients in clinic with plant medicine. I trained in orthodox and herbal medicine including studies of pathologies, medical sciences, diagnostic and clinical skills, physical examinations, pharmaceutical and herbal medicine interactions for safe practice, materia medica, pharmacognosy, therapeutics (and more).

I am committed to advancing the benefits of herbs for treating minor conditions and safely supporting patients alongside allopathic medicine in more serious conditions.

I am a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) and hold myself to the high standards of ethics and code of practice of the profession.

I support patients experiencing health challenges and provide them with therapeutic herbal treatment, and lifestyle and nutritional recommendations. I accommodate a thorough therapeutic relationship which includes a degree of counselling, coaching and accountability to help patients stay on track with suggested lifestyle changes. I incorporate my training in Ayurvedic lifestyle and nutrition management, my experience as a qualified yoga teacher teaching since 2015, continued professional development, coaching tools, along with a lifetime of studying personal development tools as I strive to consistently hold a compassionate, safe space for patients to make positive changes.

The backstory

I grew up in the French Alps, hiking and skiing on weekends and holidays, outdoors in the mountain meadows most of the time.

In my late teens I moved to Lyon to study business then English. Fast forward and I’m in London working in the corporate world for 15+ years and for the longest time in an ill-suited nerve-racking job as a Derivatives Account Manager for the New York Stock Exchange in the City. Along the way I encountered intermittent but excruciatingly deep levels of stress which drove me to near burn-out and led me to dabble in everything and anything that could alleviate the feelings and physical consequences.

London is good for that. Chose your menu. I saw myself taking up Tai Chi, Yoga classes galore, getting Reiki, having my Ayurvedic pulse read, booking Hawaiian massages, any kind of massages, exploring Energy Healing and charting my potential allergies through Muscle Testing (I’m still sceptic!). Learning Primordial Meditation, consulting Shamans. You name it! My avid readings and curious mind took me from Autogenics Training to Yogic philosophy. I worked hard, partied, and searched for solutions to anxiety and chronic digestive issues within orthodox medicine, and a wide variety of complimentary and alternative health practises which were ultimately very instructive. I learnt a great deal about techniques to help with the strain of modern life.

Eventually I left the city for Poole, on the South coast of Dorset, where I started a family.

In 2014 I followed a long time passion to study Ayurveda with Cate Stillman, a teacher in the US through her 9-months long programme, Living Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is the oldest traditional system of medicine in the world. It is still however very practical in its approach to both preventive health and healing and ideally suited to balance an overtaxing way of living – if you are willing to apply its simple strategies.

My course Boundless Energy is an online 8-week Wellness programme which offers a lifestyle overhaul essentially based on Ayurveda, Yoga, Breathwork and practises rooted in ancient traditions. Each class is filled with pragmatic and uplifting strategies to reclaim peak energy and thrive.

I certified as a Yoga and Breathwork instructor in 2015 with the school of Integral Yoga in Dorset, studying with Rowan Cobelli. Integral Yoga is a Hatha Yoga tradition, a methodical system integrating all branches of yoga for health and harmony – Hatha, Raja, Bhakti, Jnana & Japa. It is a complete practice incorporating Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises), a deep guided relaxation (Yoga Nidra) and Meditation. I have been teaching classes locally since then around Poole and launched YogaSocialEat in 2019 to host mini-retreats of a yoga class, alternative health talks, workshops, and vegan dinners.

Having intuitively used energy healing for many years, I completed the traditional Japanese Reiki 1 and 2 levels as taught in the lineage of Dr Mikao Usui; which has foundations in Buddhism, which also resonates. I intend to pursue further and write about this experience here

This is it, credentials that only have value through lived experiences and a real desire to share therapies to create health, wellbeing and energy for you, in your body and life.
